second par 3 is an all-carry 200 yard approach with a large lake fronting
and a small pot bunker on the bank, which is deep and hard to escape. Stay out
of this bunker and play to the back of the green as it is surrounded by large
mounds that keep your ball close. This is a wide but slim green, only about 12
paces deep but 50 wide making it tough to hold. A fade into the green is best.
I hit a perfect
high fade with my 7 wood and stuck it 10 feet. I make my first birdie here and
go to one under, a great start at the Dunes.
Tip: Make sure you take enough club and carry over the lake and pot
bunker. Hill will hold all shots. A long and simple downhill chip makes par possible
for players with good short games.
